Ahead of her long-anticipated third album in the Messages trilogy comes the vibrant new single “I’m Gonna Rock (Bop, Bop)” from Emmy-nominated, award-winning singer-songwriter Sheree Brown. Released via Expansion Records on 17th October 2025, the track radiates pure joy and energy. Speaking about the inspiration behind the single, Sheree explains: “I wanted to create something joyful at a time when the world needs it most. Music heals, but dancing has also been scientifically proven to lift spirits, reduce stress, and bring people together. It triggers the release of endorphins, which for me translates into a deep sense of joy. That was the energy I wanted to channel into this song, in particular.” She continues: “This record isn’t only about honouring the men who shared their stories in the book Messages From The Soul. It’s also about celebrating the universal power of music and dance, a power I’ve witnessed all over the world, particularly among my friends and supporters across the pond. I dedicate this single to them… and I dance.” The upcoming Messages From The Soul…The Power of Music album is a vibrant fusion of Rare Grooves, Soul, R&B, Gospel, Funk, and Jazz. Rooted in Sheree Brown’s Los Angeles heritage and inspired by the soulful dance scenes of London and Europe, this collection is a heartfelt tribute to the power of music. Messages From The Soul…The Power of Music celebrates the profound bond between artist and audience, paying tribute to the listeners who have embraced Sheree’s work and left an indelible mark on her journey. At a time when the world is in need of upliftment, the album stands as a sonic beacon of hope, encouragement, and inspiration. Featuring original compositions, with writing contributions from Grammy-nominated songwriter, producer and artist Patrice Rushen, Marcus Pettit, Sheree’s daughter MayaNicol and son Revels, alongside a striking new mix of the original track “Power” by multi-award-winning producer and engineer Karl ‘KC’ Cousin of the Baby Brothers Band, also renowned for his work with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. The album serves as a companion to the third and final installment of the Messages book trilogy, Messages From The Soul, authored by Sheree’s husband, Douglass Johnson, Sr. This powerful book shares real-life stories of men overcoming life’s challenges, further reinforcing the theme of resilience and transformation. In many ways, Sheree has come full circle with this project. The album’s cover photograph was captured by the legendary Bobby Holland, the same photographer behind her Capitol Records album covers.
